HLA Hydro Lash Adjuster AKA Camshaft follower, Valve lifter, Hydraulic lash adjuster. Only used for 90-97 NA Miata with OEM camshaft.
Is your NA6 or NA8 suffering from "lifter tick" syndrome? As NA Miata engines age, the automatic valve adjusters will get worn out and create a loud ticking sound. This ticking sound is not only annoying but can eventually damage your camshafts and valves. The NA series roadster uses a hydraulic/automatic adjustment type lifter for valve clearance. This is called HLA (Hydro Lash Adjuster).
The only proper way to fix it is to replace the worn out lifters with brand new lifters. In the case of NA owners wishing to stay with factory camshafts, the HLA lifters would be the ideal option.
In the case of owners wishing to upgrade to a performance camshaft (such as Maruha F-cams), then a matching set of solid lifters and lash caps will be required.
Sold as a set of 16 pieces.
This is a direct replacement made by Maruha to replace Mazda part #KL01-12-101B
